We all know that ovaries are part of the reproductive system of women. But do you know what is an ovarian cyst? Actually, ovarian cysts are small blisters or lumps filled with a kind of fluid, which starts forming inside the ovaries. Obstetricians and Gynecologist explain that these lumps of ovaries are called ovarian cysts. In most cases, until this lump becomes large, neither any symptoms of this lump (cyst) are seen nor does it cause any pain like pain. These ovarian cysts persist for a few days to a few months. Then it starts growing on its own. It is mainly of three types in women.
Types of ovarian cysts
During a woman’s menstrual cycle, an egg begins to form in the sac, which is called a follicle. Every month this sac bursts and the egg is released. But if it does not burst, then a cyst is formed inside the ovary.
Corpus Luteum Cysts
The follicle sac automatically disappears after the egg is released. But if the sac does not disappear on its own, then another fluid starts to be produced inside it and it is named as corpus luteum.
